Kitchen Equipment

Kitchen equipment

If you are cooking beginner and have no idea what kitchen equipment you need and what not, then you are at the right place. The best strategy when it comes to cooking is to select all the right tools and utensils, and if you’re a beginner, there’s no point in wasting your money on the equipment that is of no use to you. Now, you don’t need to panic when you look at this list; you can always gather them over time and stock up your kitchen.

Must Haves

Chef’s Knife – Now, this is the first thing that you need in your kitchen because you can’t cook anything without it unless its simple ramyeon. Oh, and using a crappy, dull knife won’t work, as it is only going to make it more difficult for you.

Cutting Board – Go with plastic, wood, or bamboo cutting board if you want to take care of your countertops and knives.

Non-Stick Pan/Cast Iron Skillet – Non-stick pan is an excellent option, but cast-iron skillet is way better. Although it requires some time heating up and requires seasoning first, it can be used for cooking a variety of meals. If it’s too much for you, you can always go for a non-stick pan.

Sauce Pot – It is an essential utensil for boiling veggies or making soup. You can select the size based on your requirements.

Mixing bowls – You’ll need it for mixing food.

Meat Thermometer – It might seem excessive, but if you’re a newbie this will help you a lot to make sure you don’t undercook or overcook your meat.

Measuring Spoons and Cups – If you’re new to cooking, then this is a must for you to take care of measurements.

Fine-Mesh Sieve – A 6’’ diameter sieve will do the job. You can use it for rinsing beans or as a colander for pasta.

Peeler – Peeler is must have to peel off vegetables or fruits.

Cooking or Metal Turner – Buy a spatula for mixing food while cooking and a metal turner for flipping and grilling.
